Ivan Burgess

Ivan C. Burgess, age 86, of Marlinton, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte.

Born December 4, 1928, at Onoto, he was a son of the late Fred M. and Woodsie Moore Burgess.

Ivan was a mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Hoover and Thelma Thomson.

He is survived by his sons, Troy Sharp, of Marlinton, James Burgess, of Cochranton, Pennsylvania, and Byron Burgess, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Velma Stuck, of Marlinton; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service was January 24 at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor David McCall officiating. Interment was in Cochran Cemetery in Onoto.
