ROSE, A BLACK bear at Point of View Farms delivered two cubs – a male and a female – January 17. Their names are (Rose) Petal and Bud. Rose’s first cub, CD, was born in January 2014, and his “youth” was chronicled in The Pocahontas Times. Although POV owner Joel Rosenthal moved to the county to become somewhat of a recluse, the animals have brought the world to his door, through newspapers, TV and social media. A video of a young bear cub, Boog, meeting a fawn for the first time, has been seen on Today, Ellen, Good Morning America and during the New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square.
