It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Marlinton Christmas Parade

The Marlinton Christmas Parade is set for Friday, December 1, at 7 p.m.  Line-up will be at Marlinton Elementary School.  Floats will travel along Fourth Avenue to Main Street; turn left onto Second Avenue, then turn left onto Ninth Street, and return to the school. Santa will ride through the parade and will visit with children at Discovery Junction following the parade.

Other activities that evening include:  Dinner with Santa, pancake supper, sponsored by the Marlinton Rotary, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Marlinton Elementary School; Open House at the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau on Main Street at 6 p.m.; and an Open House at the 4th Avenue Gallery at the depot from 4 to 7 p.m.

Holiday Craft Show

The Opera House will sponsor its annual Holiday Craft Show Friday, December 1, from 4 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  More than 25 crafters will participate offering a variety of gift options, including baskets, ornaments, pottery, forged metal, jewelry, quilts, knitted items, paintings, soaps and much more.

Town Decorating Contest

Voting in the Town of Marlinton’s Christmas Decorating Contest will take place from December 1 to December 10. Voting packets are available at the town office. Each business and residence that is participating in the contest will have a red number in their window or near their display. Make it a family event. Tour the town. Get out and vote!
