Irma Lea Vaughan, age 64, of Droop, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Born August 21, 1950, at Renick, she was a daughter of the late Oral Oliver and Opal Louise Brown Blankenship.
Irma was a nurse for Dr. John Sharp, a member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Pocahontas Community Club and was an avid crafter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Owen “Doodle” Stacy; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Blankenship.
Irma is survived by her husband of 39 years, William Lake Vaughan; a daughter Kelly Schuhmann, and husband, Jeff, of Mt. Sidney, Virginia; a son, Aaron Vaughan, and wife, Erica, of Maxwelton; two grandchildren, Olivia Faith Schuhmann, of Mt. Sidney, Virginia, and Ella Jo Vaughan, of Maxwelton; two brothers, Larry Blankenship, and wife, Nancy, and Danny Blankenship, all of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes the body will be cremated. Memorial service is Saturday, August 30, 1 p.m. at the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Phil Hickman officiating.
The family invites everyone to join them for a covered dish dinner at the Hillsboro Fire Department following the service.
