Homer Ray Hager

Homer Ray Hager, 84, of Marlinton, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.

Born December 21, 1935, in Culloden, he was a son of the late Bill and Eva Depriest Hager.

Ray was a member of the Marlinton First Church of the Nazarene, and a United States Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ray was also a barber, a construction laborer, and he formed two quartets.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Hager; and five brothers, Ernie, Wood- row, Bob, Freddie and Paul Hager.

Ray is survived by his wife, Nancy Sharp Hager; sons, Andy Gregory, of Hamlin, William Bill Hager, of Red House, Steven Irvine, of Marlinton, and Jimmy Layman, of Richmond, Virginia; two daughters, Rae Jean Bates, of Teays Valley, and Angela Irvine, of Marlinton; one sister, Jeanie Shato, of Patriot, Ohio; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 6 p.m. at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Pastor Norman Alderman officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service.
