Herbert Clark Grime, age 89, of Elkins, formerly of Dunmore, died Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

Born December 11, 1928, at Dunmore, he was a son of the late Garfield and Elle Moore Grimes.

Herbert was a retired sawmill worker and farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alma Arbogast, Lillian Dahmer, Genevieve Miller, Viola Brown, Juanita Winnans, Helen Vannoy and Erma Lee Grimes; and brothers, Odell Grimes, Hunter Grimes, Bland Grimes and Earl Grimes.

He is survived by his daughters, Rose Marie Bockman, of Kissimmee, Florida, and Sandra Kennedy, of Timberville, Virginia; sons, Richard Grimes, of Point Marion, Pennsylvania, Raymond Grimes, of Timberville, Virginia, Robert Grimes, of Three Rivers, Michigan, Roger Grimes, of Singers Glen, Virginia, and Steve Grimes, of Broadway, Virginia; sisters, Betty Rolston, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Gaynell Sharp, of Charlottesville, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to thank Nella’s Nursing Home, Inc. for their care of Herbert.

Funeral service Wednesday, October 17, 3 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Pocahontas County.
