Helen Lester

Helen L. Lester, age 83, of Marlinton, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.

Born March 16, 1934, at Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Margaret Dye Madison.

Helen was a homemaker and caregiver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loman Calvin Lester; daughters, Charlotte Lester, Linda Lester and Regina Lester; a son, Loman Calvin Lester, Jr.; a brother, Norman Madison, Jr.; and grandchildren, Natalie Ann and Jayla Shay.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Lester and Darlene Lester, both of Marlinton, and Norma Hughes, of Nettie; sons, Greg Lester, Mike Lester and Steve Lester, all of Marlinton; sisters, Nora Butler, of Toldeo, Ohio, Mary Lane, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Rose Ellen Long, of Elkins; brothers, Lawrence Madison, of Marlinton, and Eugene Madison, of Germany; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held May 7 at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton with Pastor David Merryman officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton.
