Green Bank Observatory Star Quest XIV ~ July 19-22

The 14th annual Optical and radio Astronomy “Star Party” is set for July 19 – 22 at the Green Bank Observatory.

The theme for 2017 is Solar ~ get informed and get ready for the upcoming “Great American Eclipse.”

Distinguished keynote speakers have been scheduled for every evening offering presentations on the latest in optical and radio astronomy, as well as a prominent speaker for Saturday night’s Keynote Presentation.

Clinics and additional presentations on multiple subjects, including Astro-photography, will be held daily indoors.

Solar and night-time observing is available at the campsite.

The campground has graveled roads, sanitary stations and a hot-shower facility close by.

The event will include a drawing for numerous and various prizes and Children’s Activities.

There is a cafeteria and snack bar onsite, and vendors will be there, as well.

The four-day registration fee is just $100.

Limited bunkhouse accommodations are available for an additional fee.
