Grand Jury hands up indictments in 13 cases

According to Pocahontas County Circuit Clerk Connie Carr, the December Grand Jury convened Tuesday and handed up indictments against the following individuals:

Gary Cool, 34, of Monterville, one count, possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled non-narcotic substance, a felony; one count, fleeing from a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor; one count, making a false statement to a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor.

Carrie Pritt, 22, of Warm Springs, Virginia, one count, possession with the intent to deliver a schedule II controlled non-narcotic substance, a felony.

Hayes Andrew Arbogast, 51, of Valley Head, two counts, wanton endangerment involving a firearm, a felony; one count, attempted malicious assault, a felony.

Buck Ryan Barker, 57, of Marlinton, one count wanton endangerment involving a firearm, a felony.

James William Wood, Jr., 26, of Marlinton, one count, entry of a building other than a dwelling, a felony; two counts, grand larceny, a felony; one count, fleeing from a law enforcement officer, a felony; one count of attempted malicious assault on a law enforcement officer, a felony; one count, destruction of property; one count, burglary, a felony; one count, destruction of property, a misdemeanor.

Phillip C. Dean, Jr., 45, of Marlinton, one count, attempted murder, a felony; five counts, wanton endangerment involving a firearm, a felony; one count, person prohibited from possessing a firearm, a misdemeanor.

George Harmon, 26, of Marlinton, one count, wanton endangerment involving a firearm, a felony; one count, person prohibited from possessing a firearm, a misdemeanor; one count, domestic assault, a misdemeanor.

John Beckner Chaplin, Jr., 39, hometown unknown, one count, driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense, a felony.
Gary W. McKenney, 68, of Marlinton, one count, driving revoked for DUI, third offense, a felony; one count, improper registration, a misdemeanor.

Amanda Katherine Brewer-Long, 37, of Hillsboro, one count, possession with intent to deliver a schedule I controlled non-narcotic substance, marijuana, a felony; one count, possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled non-narcotic substance, methamphetamine, a felony; one count, possession with intent to deliver a schedule II controlled narcotic substance, Oxycodone, a felony; one count, manufacture of a Schedule I controlled non-narcotic substance, marijuana, a felony; one count, child neglect creating substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury, a felony.

Joshua Long, 38, of Hillsboro, one count, possession with intent to deliver a schedule I controlled non-narcotic substance, marijuana, a felony; one count, possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled non-narcotic substance, methamphetamine, a felony; one count, possession with intent to deliver a schedule II controlled narcotic substance, Oxycodone, a felony; one count, manufacture of a Schedule I controlled non-narcotic substance, marijuana, a felony; one count, child neglect creating substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury, a felony.

Mitchell Kramer, 45, hometown unknown, one count, wanton endangerment involving a firearm, a felony; one count, domestic battery, a misdemeanor.

Roslyn McCarty, 20, of Marlinton, one count, threatening to commit a terrorist act, a felony; one count, obstructing a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor; one count, battery of a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor; one count, public intoxication, a misdemeanor; one count, disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

An indictment is not proof of guilt. A person is deemed innocent until proven otherwise by a jury of their peers.
