Grand jury hands up 13 indictments in December term

According to Pocahontas County Circuit Clerk Connie Carr, 13 indictments were returned by the grand jury Tuesday during the December term.

The following cases were heard before the Honorable Judge Robert E. Richardson. Arraignments will be held Wednesday, December 17.

David Wayne Cassell, II, 27, of Cass – Two Counts, Entry of Building Other Than a Dwelling, a felony; One Count, Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor; One Count, Destruction of Property, a misdemeanor.

Chasity Chantel Gladwell, 23, of Hillsboro – One Count, Child Neglect Resulting in Death, a felony.

Alexander N. Shelton, 20, of Lewisburg – One Count, Grand Larceny, a felony.

Scott E. Triplett, age unknown, of Hillsboro – One Count, Embezzlement, a felony; One Count, Grand Larceny, a felony.

Travis D. Brown, 31, of Arbovale – Two Counts, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Narcotic Controlled Substance, a felony; One Count, Possession with Intent to Deliver a

Schedule II Non-Narcotic Controlled Substance, a felony; One Count, Possession with

Intent to Deliver a Schedule IV, Non-Narcotic Controlled Substance, a felony.

Courtney E. Taylor, 28, of Dunmore – Two Counts, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II

Narcotic Controlled Substance, a felony; One Count, Possession with Intent to Deliver a

Schedule II Non-Narcotic Controlled Substance, a felony; One Count, Possession with

Intent to Deliver a Schedule IV, Non-Narcotic Controlled Substance, a felony.

The following cases were heard before the Honorable James J. Rowe. Arraignments will be held Friday, December 19.

Jonathan A. Royal, 52, of Cass – Two Counts, Delivery of a Schedule II Narcotic Controlled

Substance, a felony; One Count, Delivery of a Schedule I Non-Narcotic Controlled

Substance, a felony.

Avery A. Hambrick, III, 22, of Hillsboro – Four Counts, Sexual Assault Second Degree, a felony; One Count, Sexual Assault Third Degree, a felony.

Rhonda Marie Day, 35, Hillsboro – One Count, Delivery of a Schedule IV, Non-Narcotic Controlled Substance, a felony.

Jenna Marie Bennett, 22, of Marlinton – One Count, Entry of Building Other Than Dwelling, a felony.

Andrea J. Buck, age and address unknown – One Count, Fraudulent Schemes, a felony.

Brian J. Adams, 55, of Charlottesville, Virginia – One Count, Attempted Kidnapping, a felony; One Count, Attempted Abduction of a Person, a felony.

Rebecca B. McCann, age and address unknown – One Count, Attempt to Commit a Prohibited Act C, a felony; One Count, Conspiracy, a felony; One Count, Obtaining Property by False Pretenses, a misdemeanor.

An indictment is not proof of guilt. All persons are deemed to be not guilty until proven otherwise by a jury of their peers
