The Pearl S. Buck Birthplace Foundation relies on generous donations from all over the world to maintain the beloved Stulting and Sydenstricker homes in Hillsboro.
Now, there is an easy way to make a donation to the Birthplace – by shopping at AmazonSmile and Kroger.
AmazonSmile, founded by Amazon.com, offers shoppers a chance to support a favorite charitable organization.
Amazon.com members, or those who shop there often, can log on to AmazonSmile at smile.amazon.com and type Pearl S. Buck Birthplace into the box under the headline “Or pick your own charitable organization.” The next page that shows up will ask you to select Pearl S. Buck Birthplace.
After it is selected, every time you login to smile.amazon.com to shop, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate .5 percent of the purchase price from eligible purchases. Some items are restricted from the donation.
Also offering support to the Birthplace is Kroger through the Kroger Community Rewards Program.
Shoppers who use a Kroger Plus card may enroll online to donate to the Birthplace.
To register, visit krogercommunityrewards.com and have your Kroger Plus card handy. Visitors are required to sign in or register to set up an account. After the account is active and you are signed in, click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and type in your Kroger Plus card number.
Enter the following number for the Birthplace – 90492. The organization’s name will appear on the right side of your information page.
Once registered, it’s as easy as a trip to the grocery store or the online store to make a donation to Pearl S. Buck Birthplace.
