George Rexrode

George W. “Rex” Rexrode, a resident of Glen Burnie, Maryland, since 1958, passed away December 22, 2015.

Born January 24, 1931, in Arbovale, he was a son of the late Arlie Cecil and Media Alice Sponaugle Rexrode.

George was a machinist with American Can Company for more than 30 years. He was a United States Marine, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #213, Moose Lodge and the Elks.

Rex enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, woodworking, carpentry, sports and horse racing.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary M. “Messina” Rexrode, of Glen Burnie, Maryland; sons, Daryell M. Rexrode and David B. Rexrode, both of Glen Burnie, Maryland; a daughter, Deborah L. Jackson, of Severn, Maryland; a brother, Guy Rexrode, of Elkridge, Maryland; a sister, Pearl Clarkson, of Arbovale; grandchildren, Jeremy Reed, Fallon LeGare and Jessica Rexrode; and great-grandchildren, Jack Reed, Brett Reed, Caroline LeGare and Elise LeGare.

Funeral service was December 31 at Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Interment was in Crownsville Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
