George Edwin Burke, 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born April 23, 1946, in Weston, he was a son of the late Bernard Joseph and Anna Marie Gissy Burke.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Thomas L. Steeper.

George was a member of St. John Newman Catholic Church in Marlinton. He was member of the Knights of Columbus, a litigation specialist, and enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Swint Burke; daughter, Kelly A. Steeper, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania; son, Andrew M. Burke, and wife, Laura, of Manchester, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Liam, Aiden and Brooke Steeper and Caleb Burke.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye.

A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. by Father Arthur Bufogle, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to St. John Newman Catholic Church, 714 10th Avenue, Marlinton, WV 24954.

In keeping with his wishes, the body will be cremated.
