Gary Cassell

Gary Allen Cassell, age 63, of Cass, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020, at his home.

Born November 13, 1956, at Marlinton, he was a son of JoAnn Brewster Atkins, and the late John Beryle Cassell.

Gary retired from Cass Scenic Railroad State Park as an engineer, and most recently he began working for the Edray Fish Hatchery.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Allen Cassell, and his mother, Brenda Cassell, both of Arbovale; his mother, Jo Ann Brewster Atkins, and husband, Sherman, of Harrisonburg, Virginia; his companion of 25 years, Vickie Cassell, and her daughter, Kelly Dawn Plaugher, both of Cass; a sister, Cathy Sue Fulk, of Frost; a brother, Winfred Rex Cassell, and companion, Donnita, of Cass; grandchildren, Shealynn Plaugher and Bayla Plaugher; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was held January 20 at Arbovale Cemetery with Pastors Julian Rittenhouse and David Rittenhouse officiating.
