Garrett Sisler

Garrett Lynn “Butch” Sisler, age 67, of Bartow, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, after a sudden illness.

Born November 22, 1946, at Carnesville, he was a son of the late Hampster Darwin and Madeline Matheney Sisler.

Butch was a Foreman with Interstate Hardwood in Bartow, a member of the VFW, a Moose Lodge member, Vietnam Air Force Veteran and was of the Methodist faith.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to work on his land and loved the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marylin Frazee, Rowena Heath and Helen Sisler.

He is survived by his wife, Zella Virginia Friend Sisler; a daughter, Sheila Kay Sharp, and husband, Alan, of Eglon; sons, Garrett Lynn “Butchie” Sisler, Jr., and wife, Crystal, of Durbin, and Brad Darwin Sisler, and companion, Katie, of Durbin; grandchildren, Amy, Ashley, Adam, Chasity, Alex, Amber, Makayla, Gracie and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Brionna, Natalie, David, Bryson, Kaylee, Issac, Nevaeh, Jayden and Colton; and numerous friends.

Family will receive friends Thursday, June 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral service will be Friday, June 13, 11 a.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with the graveside service with Military Honors at 3 p.m. in the Miller Cemetery in Cranesville, with Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating.
