Free children’s performance at the Opera House Sunday

“Curiouser and curioser!”

Come follow Alice down the rabbit hole and enter a wonderland both strange and marvelous Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m. when the Pocahontas County Opera House presents Lewis Carroll’s classic “Alice in Wonderland.” You’ll see two amazing actors from the Hampstead Theater Company play all the major roles ranging from Alice to the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter to the Queen of Hearts. And just maybe you’ll have the chance to join them onstage in this curious upside down world where ordinary things become extraordinary.
The Hampstead Theater company so delighted audiences with their production of “A Christmas Carol” that the Opera House decided to have them back again in the spring.
“There is nothing like live theater for children,” Michelle Jeffers, Opera House Board Member and retired principal said. “This is such a great opportunity for families to do something fun together.”
The Hampstead Theater Company began its mission 31 years ago and has grown into one of the largest educational touring companies in the nation performing for more than 20 million audience members across the country. They perform original adaptions of classic children’s stories in a lively one hour show that often includes children from the audience. Following the play, the children will get a chance to meet the actors and ask questions.
The Marlinton Woman’s Club will once again provide refreshments fit for a Queen or King. Admission is $5 for adults, those 17 and under are admitted free.
Tickets will be available at the door at 818 Third Avenue in Marlinton.
For more information call 304-799-6645.
