The 2024 summer series begins Friday, May 3, in collaboration with the Mar- linton Woman’s Club’s Evening with the Arts as we “Celebrate Our Youth!”

The fun will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in Marlinton at Discovery Junction and the surrounding area.

The event will feature student performances on stage. The list includes such talent as Sal and Fenna Marks, Gavin Walls, Marlinton Elementary and Hillsboro Elementary recorder students, Adrienne Cedarleaf’s young dancers, students of Trevor Hammons and the Pocahontas County High School Theatre Club.

At the same time, student artwork from the county middle schools and high school will be on display in the Opera House. The Woman’s Club will also have refreshments available.

The Pocahontas County Farmers Market will be out for the first time this season with a variety of spring produce and plants.

Of course, the evening will be rounded out with the usual fun and games of First Fridays.

Many of our partners will be there with activities for the kids, games in the street, and a not-to-miss Dog Circus put on by Pendleton Community Bank.

Come out and let’s get the summer started.
