Joe Akers, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, has purchased the Arthur Fox prop- erty at Mountain Grove and will move there about October 1. He attended and appreciated so much the nice wedding of Connie Dilley. Also, he and his brother, Emerson, and son, of Clarksburg, attended the Wesley Chapel Church Homecoming August 31 where they had such a good Christian program with beautiful singing. He and Mrs. Calin Akers had the two cedars that were uprooting stones removed in the cemetery at Wesley Chapel.

Ft. Benning, GA. – Army Private Douglas E. Wagner, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wagner, of Marlinton, received a Parachutist Badge marking his successful completion of the airborne course at the Army Infantry School here. He underwent a rigorous physical training program, then tested his ability by jumping from 34-foot and 250-foot towers. The final week he was required to make five actual jumps. He is assigned as a rifleman in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
