STORM
Friday night brought an unusual electric storm with wind and rain. The lightning seemed to spread over the ground. Trees were blown down in the Split Rock area. The State Road Department reported no major damage.

GOLDEN WEDDING
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hiner, of Dunmore, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary August 31 at their home. They were married October 3, 1925, by Rev. S. R. Neel in the Marlinton Methodist Parsonage. Mr. Hiner is a retired automobile mechanic and Mrs. Hiner is postmaster at Dunmore.

Julian Field Lockridge, 76, of Marlinton; born at Minnehaha Springs, a son of the late Dr. James Bedford and Maggie Warwick Lockridge. Miss Elizabeth Ward, 72, a lifelong resident of Beverly; she retired after 37 years’ experience as a teacher. She last taught at Marlinton High School. Born in Beverly, she was a daughter of the late John Balis Ward, Sr., and Angelia Scott Ward, both members of pioneer Randolph families. Funeral service from John W. Lohr Funeral home with interment in the Beverly Cemetery.

Edward A. Morales, 63, of La Cresenta, California, formerly of Pocahontas County. Funeral service from Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with burial in Arbovale Cemetery. Mr. Morales loved Pocahontas County very much and the people and his desire was to be buried here in these lovely hills and valleys.
