There were no bidders in the Kumbrabow timber sale last week. The state foresters were somewhat surprised that no sawmill operators were interested, but we understand by secondhand reports that the timber marked was mostly cull. The forester said the appraisal could not be altered and they couldn’t mark additional timber, but contracts would be made with operators. The director of the Department of Natural Resources can negotiate a sale within six months after bids have been sought.
