Skiing
Skiing at Snowshoe was excellent at the beginning of last weekend and about 1,500 were reported to be at the resort on Saturday. There was a good crowd Sunday in spite of rain. Monday a good snow came, closing schools, and lots of students took advantage of the special hospitality Snowshoe offered them.

New members, Dr. Ernest K. Shaw., Jr. and June W. Riley took the oath of office and are full-fledged members of the Board.
The following resolution was unanimously passed by the Board.
“Be it resolved that the Pocahontas County Board of Education expresses its thanks and appreciation to Dr. J. M. Mallow for 18 years of service, and M. B. Dilley for 14 years of service, as members of the Pocahontas County Board of Education. During their long and distinguished service, there have been many turbulent years and drastic changes in the Pocahontas County School System.
