Farm Efficiency Award

The Albert Wilfong family didn’t go to Detroit in February – it was the beginning of the lambing season – so Detroit came to Pocahontas Saturday to honor him.

Along with the Farm Efficiency Award given by the Ford Tractor and Implement Division of Ford Motor Company goes an award of $2,000.

The Wilfongs selected the farm program of Pocahontas County High School Vocational Department to receive the money.

Grover Cleveland Withrow, 88, of Marlinton; funeral service from the VanReenen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at Clawson.

Lloyd Harlan Reed, 58, of Marlinton; born at Harter, a son of Mrs. Nettie Hazel Reed, of Marlinton, and the late Jess Reed. Funeral service from the Marlinton Methodist Church with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
