Pocahontas escaped any serious effects of last week’s stormy weather but the wind was high in some places. Kenneth Kelley on Knapps Creek lost the roof from his barn and telephone service was disrupted in places. Lightning struck the Monongahela Power substation at Edray and some local transformers, so some sections were without electricity for five hours.
