Estie Roberts

Estie K. Roberts, age 98, of Covington, Virginia, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at Lewis Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Virginia.

Born August 15, 1915, at Renick, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Luella Workman.

Estie was a loving mother and grandmother, devout Christian of the Baptist faith, a homemaker and retired from the State of West Virginia as a state employee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Durward Roberts; three brothers, Pat Workman, Gilbert Workman and Herbert Workman; two sisters, Ida Patrick and Mary Howeth; and an infant grandson, Gerald Anderson.

She is survived by five daughters, Irene Pyles, and husband, Curtis, of Seebert, Carol Anderson, and husband, Clarence, Juanita Bostic, and husband, Ron, Wanda Morgan, and husband, Roger, and Karen Kelly, and husband, Eugene, all of Covington, Virginia; a son, Jimmy Roberts, and companion, Bonnie, of Covington, Virginia; two sisters, Dasil Hill, of Hillsboro, and Dessie Simmons, of Orange, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Glenda, Kelley, Dee, Darlene, Drema, Jody, Scotty, Bridget and Brandon; 15 great-grandchildren, Kristin, TJ, Olivia, Adrianna, Chelsea, Cade, CJ, Mikey, Morgan, Hilleary, Jimmy, Ashton, Michael, Jacob and Curtis; and three great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Brylee and Layne.

Family will receive friends March 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, and other times at their residence at 3020 Mallow Road, Covington, Virginia.

Funeral service is Thursday, March 20, 2 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home with Rev. Lisa Marshall and Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery in Renick.

Pallbearers are Chris Rago, CJ Rago, Howard Walker, Cade Walker, Scotty Morgan, Aaron Morgan, Michael Dunbrack and Jacob Dunbrack.
