Pocahontas County Commissioner William Beard was among the guests at the Emergency Medical Services annual dinner at Mountain Quest Inn last Wednesday evening. During her remarks, EMS board member Janet Ghigo told the group that EMS services in the county were trending toward paid positions, rather than volunteers, and that it would be interesting to see if the trend continues. In the photo, Ghigo speaks to the assembly.
