Green Bank Elementary-Middle School hosted the first annual Empty Bowls, Mug Style event to support the Pocahontas County Family Resource Network. Above, members of the Pocahontas County High School National Honor Society help serve attendees, and at left, Tammy Hively browses the wide variety of mugs before her meal. Providing entertainment for the evening was Uncle Gary and the Porch Pickers. The event raised $1,660 which will be used to fund the Weekend Backpack program provided by the FRN. Along with GBEMS, the event was sponsored by the Pocahontas County Arts Council, Last Run Restaurant, The Burner Homeplace and Seneca Woodlands Woman’s Club. S. Stewart photos
