Cass Scenic Railroad State Park resembled the North Pole last week as the Christmas in Cass celebration brought visitors together with music, art, food and a special train ride. The Mountain Rail Adventures “Elf Limited” train featured a skit performed by the Old Brick Playhouse, of Elkins. Potential Christmas elves must go through a series of tests in order to become an official elf on Santa Claus’ team. Above, elves Snowball and Chipper receive presents from Santa as their leader, Mistletoe, watches. The boxes revealed if the elves passed the test.

One of the tests for becoming an elf is a reindeer grooming contest. The elves chose individuals on the train to serve as their reindeer. Above, Mistletoe visits with one of Chipper’s reindeer to determine his grade.
