Edna May Webb, 98, of Marlinton, peacefully passed from this life Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.
Born February 11, 1925, near Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Milburn and Pearl Beverage Sharp Burks.
Edna owned and operated the Alpine Hotel and Kelley’s Restaurant and the El Poca Motel and Restaurant in Marlinton, retiring in 1978.
She loved her flowers and always put out a large garden of vegetables which she liked to share.
She was a member of Marlinton Presbyterian Church, Red Hats and the VFW Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Harold L. Cochran; husbands, C. C. Kelly, James Allen Webb and Paul Graham; two sons, George Hunter Cochran and Harold Lee Cochran, Jr.; three brothers, Carl, Claude and Johnny Sharp; and five sisters, Margaret Channell, Jennie Cutlip, Anna Lee Hannah, Dolly McComb and Eula Moore.
She is survived by brothers, Ralph Sharp, of Dunmore, and Ray Sharp (Linda), of Marlinton; sisters, Eva Jane Madron, of Dunmore, and Nancy Hager, of Marlinton; three grandchildren, Gregory H. Coch-ran (Brenda), Letitia M. Cochran and Misty L. Coch-an; great-grandchildren, Kellyn Cassell (Katie), Tausha Grim (Joshua), Courtney McClung (Jared), Makinsey Poeppel (Greg), and Ty Cochran; 10 great-great-grandchildren, McKenna, Chloe, Ellie, Kai, Kenidy, Brailey, Hunter, Maggie, Leo and Thea; and several loving nieces, nephews and long time friends.
The family will receive friends at VanReenen Funeral Home Saturday, January 27, 2024, from noon to 2 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Pastor Sam Felton officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
