In August 1891, The Dunmore United Metho-dist Church was dedicated by Dr. J.W. Young as the “Moore Memorial Church, M.E. South.”

On September 11, 2016, the church will celebrate its 125th anniversary with a worship service, covered dish lunch and live entertainment.

The service begins at 10 a.m. followed by Sunday School. The children of the church will be dressed in period attire and parishioners/visitors are invited to dress in period costume, as well.

At 12:30 p.m., the covered dish lunch will be shared in the picnic pavilion behind the church. The congregation will also be treated to live entertainment by Homer Hunter and friends at 1:30 p.m.

The time capsule buried at the 100th anniversary will be unearthed.

The congregation welcomes the community to bring pictures and memories to the celebration.
