Duane Madron

Duane Darrell Madron, age 81, of Dunmore, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Lewis Gale Allegheny Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Virginia.

Born March 17, 1933, in Seneca, Nebraska, he was a son of the late Rodney and Greta Bleauval Madron.

Duane was a retired millwright from The National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Green Bank. He was a United States Navy and Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Jane Sharp Madron, of Dunmore; daughters, Marla Cain, and husband, David, of Roanoke, Virginia, and Rebecca Brooks, and husband, Harold, of Summersville; sons, Martin “Pete” Chestnut, and wife, Cheryl, of Dunmore and Rick Madron, and Scott Madron, and wife, Robin, all of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Corey Cain, Brandon Cain, Devin Cain, Jay Brooks, Carrey Radford, Jennifer Chestnut, Zach Chestnut, Joe Madron, Whitney Duffy, Justin Madron and Kristan Madron; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was January 24 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Chapel in Arbovale with Pastor David Fuller officiating. Interment with full Military Honors by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps was in the Dunmore Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Dunmore Community Center or the Dunmore United Methodist Church.
