Dr. Arthur Kreft

Dr. Arthur E. Kreft, age 81, of Greer, South Carolina, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was a son of the late Paul Henry Carl and Florence Elizabeth Hurd Kreft. Dr. Kreft attended and graduated from Toccoa Falls High School, Tennessee, Temple University, University of Florida and Luther Rice Seminary.

He was a retired Christian school teacher, preacher, an accomplished artist and was a member of Choice Hills Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Kreft.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Elizabeth Underwood Kreft; a son, Arthur James Kreft, and wife, Tanya; a daughter, Mary Jo Felts, and husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Arthur John Paul Kreft, and wife, Kayla, Joshua David Kreft, and wife, Jessica, Hannah Marie Kreft, James Matthew Kreft, and wife, Anna, Christian Joy Turner, and husband, Joshua, Ronald Arthur Kreft, and wife, Megan, and Tiffany Elizabeth Egan, and husband, Devin; great-grandchildren, Arthur Malachi Lewis Kreft, Kenley Elizabeth Kreft, Jacqueline Leigha Kreft, Matthew Landon Kreft and Avery Grace Felts.

Funeral service was June 4 at Choice Hills Baptist Church. Interment was in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
