The staff in the Pocahontas County Tax Office has been on the job for more than 20 years, giving dedicated service to the county. From left: Missy Sparks celebrated 20 years in December and says she enjoys working with the people who come in the office. Virginia Deputy has been a full-time employee in the office for 23 years and part-time for 10 years. She began working through the Governor’s Summer Youth Program when she was in her teens. Tabby Mann has been at the tax office for 20 years plus several months. She worked for Jerry Dale when he was elected sheriff and transferred to the tax office at his request and stayed with the job. The ladies have seen sheriffs come and go, but their work remains consistant. S. Stewart photo
