Dawn Amber Meyer, age 52, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Born December 7, 1962, she was a daughter of the late John William Blake and Elva Mae Blake.

Dawn graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with an associate’s degree in Fashion Illustration. She was a devoted wife and mother who never met a person she wouldn’t reach out to.

Being a co-founder of Camp Oak Marr in Hillsboro, a 501c(3) charity dedicated to helping special needs children, and their families, was the crowning jewel of her life’s accomplishments. Camp Oak Marr will continue forward in her honor as per her wishes.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, John Douglas Meyer; a daughter, Tabitha Ramsey Schuertzmann; a granddaughter, Aurora; sisters, Shawn Marie Voelz and Jackie D. Sexton; and brothers, Gary Allen Sebring and Richard D. Sebring.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 22, 2 p.m. at Camp Oak Marr. It will be a casual affair and close friends and family are invited to stay afterward for a potluck dinner.

In lieu of flowers or for directions, visit www.campoakmarr.org for more information.
