Darrell Joe Dilley, age 74, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, formerly of Marlinton, died Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Indian Creek in Corydon, Indiana.
Born June 8, 1940, at Clawson, he was a son of the late Luther Amos Dilley and Ruby Mitchell Dilley Smith.
Darrell was a retired Sergeant First Class, United States Army, a member of DAV, Vine Grove Volunteer Fire Department and a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Mae Broyles Dilley; a daughter, Paula Darlene Dilley; a sister, Joan Dilley; and a brother, Norman Lee Dilley.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Sue Dilley, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, and Donna Marie Dilley, of Ballwin, Missouri; and two brothers, Albert W. “Butch” Smith, II, of Denver, Colorado, and James L. Smith, of Marlinton.
Funeral service was December 10 at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor David Merryman officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery with Military Rites.
