Darrel Ledford Workman, 80, of Louisa, Virginia, died Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Born January 25, 1944, at Ronceverte, he was a son of the late William Gilbert and Lola Blankenship Workman.
Darrel served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, and worked for Martin Marietta for 25 years as a welding foreman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Burgess Workman; and sisters, Jenny Rose and Judy Palmer.
He is survived by his daughter, Sheila L. Workman, of Louisa, Virginia; brothers, Eddie Workman and Kenneth Workman, of Marlinton, and Raymond Workman, of Hillsboro; grandson, Jason W. Cook, of Hedgesville; and great-grand-daughter, Zoey A. Cook, of Hedgesville.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Ruckman Cemetery with Pastor Fred Goldizen officiating.
