Danny Doss

Danny McArthur Doss, age 73, of Marlinton, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Born December 16, 1943, at Whitesville, he was a son of the late John F. and Vada Rose Doss.

Danny was a construction laborer. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and dig ginseng.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Doss; two brothers, Marvin Doss and Roger Doss; and a grandchild, David Crocket Doss.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Sue Darnell Doss; two daughters, Mary Ann Doss and Mara Burdette, and husband, Pete, all of Marlinton; a son, Danny “Boone” Doss, and wife, Mary, of Marlinton; two sisters, Shirley Armstrong, and husband, Arden, and Carol Rudd, all of Buckeye; a brother, Gary Doss, and wife, Charma, of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Brenda “Cookie” Doss, of Marlinton; grandchildren, Billy Burdette, Mark Burdette, Holly Burdette, Tara Doss, Emily Doss, Kenzie Doss, Samantha Holister, Carrie Pritt and Eli Pritt; and great-grandchildren, Anthony Burdette, Jaydon Burdette, Preslee Burdette, Natalye Burdette, Liam Burdette, Addison Cochran and Xavier Long.

Per his wishes, the body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
