This year, CW’s Corn Maze in Cass is drawing inspiration from the ocean with this under the sea corn maze design featuring a sunken pirate ship, shark, crab, octopus and more aquatic animals.

Staff Writer

It will be a swashbuckling good time at CW’s Corn Maze in Cass this fall with an ocean theme – complete with a pirate ship, shark, octopus and more for visitors to zig zag through.

Co-owner Michelle Wilfong said the maze is cut and ready for visitors to enjoy, starting this weekend.

“We still have a lot of games,” she said. “This year, we’re adding a few new activities. We’re going to have some new climbing platforms for the kids and have a jungle gym. We got a new axe throwing game. The jump pad is pretty popular. We’ll have some new animals for the petting zoo.”

There will also be a special sheep herding demo all day October 12 and 13.

As for snacks, the Wilfongs will have the staples of hamburgers and hot dogs, with all beef coming from their own farm. There will also be slushies and sweets.

The theme is always the brainchild of the corn maze’s name sake, Michelle’s son CW.

“He really enjoyed going to the beach this year on vacation, so that’s how he decided,” she said.

The maze opened September 21 and will be open until October 27 – Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m.

A special flashlight and glow stick night has been added for October 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. and the haunted maze will be October 26, 8 to 10 p.m.
