Curtis “Sterling” Smith, 64, of Bartow, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023.
Born April 30, 1959, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late Gerald D. Smith and Yvonne Raines Tincher.
He was a retired Tallyman at Interstate Hardwoods. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved metal detecting and loved caring for all the stray cats in his and other neighborhoods.
In addition to his parents, Sterling was preceded in death by his step-father, Henry Lawson; sister, Theresa Curry; and infant sister, Angela.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Lambert Smith; son, Jeremy (Lisa) Smith, of Bartow; grandchildren, Chris- tian (Reva) Smith and Nacota Smith; great-grandchild, Xavier Smith; step- great-grandchild, Coalton Lambert; sisters, Stella (Buck) Price, of Virginia, Robbie Jo (Bill) Osborne, of South Carolina, Camilla Bruce, of Virginia, and Cynthia Nagle, of Ohio; brothers, Henry (Vickie) Lawson, Jr., of Durbin, and Gerald (Crissy) Smith, of Maryland.
Visitation Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral service at 8 p.m. with Pastor Donnie Curry officiating.
