Curtis Curry

Curtis Allen Curry, died Friday, July 3, 2015, in Marlinton after a short illness.

Born in Marlinton in a home on the banks of the Greenbrier River, he was a son of the late Cecil Amos Curry and Marlie Matilda Sharp Curry.

Curtis graduated from Marlinton High School and Marshall University. After serving in the United States Army, he went to work for Ashland Oil and

Refining Company. He worked for Ashland Oil in Ashland, Kentucky, Los Angeles, California, and Charlotte, North Carolina, before retiring in 1989 with 31 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annabell Johnson; his first wife, Diane VanOsdol Curry; and a daughter, Angela Curry St Gelais.

He is survived by his wife, Evelene Hannah Curry, of Marlinton; children, David Curry, of Hillsboro and Daniel Curry and Jonathan Curry, both of Columbus, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at the Marlinton United Methodist Church, 806 Sixth Avenue. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Curtis’ life.

Curtis requested, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to the Pocahontas County Senior Center, PO Box 87, Marlinton, WV 24954.
