Clenston Cole Dulaney, age 82, of Marlinton, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Pocahontas Center, where he had been a resident.

Born April 21, 1934, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late Luther Cole and Lucille Hannah Dulaney.

Clenston was a United States Army Veteran, serving in South Korea from 1953 to 1956; after which, he returned home to Marlinton. The mountains of Pocahontas County would become his place to settle down and raise a family.

He attended Trinity Baptist Church, where he was an active member, attending all functions as long as he was physically able to do so.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Dulaney; and a sister, Leona Dulaney Furr.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy and Terry; a son, Randy; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Loretta Dulaney Simmons, of Hillsboro, Jean Dulaney Whiting, of Raphine, Virginia, and Betty Dulaney Hollandsworth, of Buena Vista, Virginia; and four brothers, Kenneth Dulaney, of Buckeye, Eugene Dulaney, of Hillsboro, Donald Dulaney, of Glasgow, Virginia, and Arnold Dulaney, of Marlinton.

In keeping with his wishes, the body was cremated.

A memorial service was held April 1 at Trinity Baptist Church with G.P. Simmons officiating.
