According to Pocahontas County Circuit Clerk Connie Carr, the following hearing was held June 5, via Skype and tele-conference call, before the Honorable Judge Robert E. Richardson:
A motions hearing was held in the case the State vs Terri Bradshaw, 40, of Hillsboro, wherein the court denied defense motions to 1.) dismiss the case on grounds of alleged retaliation; 2.) dismiss on the grounds of insufficient evidence; as well as denying a request from the defense to move forward with civil cases instead of the criminal case. The court advised that this matter – illegal possession of wildlife – will proceed to trial where the defendant will have all the rights of defense. It was noted that the bear in question is at the French Creek Game Farm and officers are asking that it be released. The court will allow Bradshaw to inspect the bear via video and photographs before it is released. The court denied a defense motion to allow Bradshaw to go with the DNR officers to release the bear.
The matter is set for a hearing June 26 to determine if a non-jury trial will be held by video or in the courtroom.
