According to Pocahontas County Circuit Clerk Connie Carr, the following cases were heard June 12 before the Honorable Judge Jennifer P. Dent:
A capias was issued for Burt W. Harmon, Jr., 22, of Cowen, who failed to appear for his pretrial status conference.
Negotiations are ongoing in the case the State vs Matthew J. Tuskan, 36, of Hillsboro. The defendant waived his right to a speedy trial, and the matter is set for a status conference August 7. Tuskan was admitted to bond with the added condition of home incarceration.
Trial is set for July 9 in the case the State vs Eden Denys Taylor, 33, of Lizemores.
A revocation hearing was held in the case the State vs Bradley C. McDaniels, 41, of Marlinton, wherein the defendant waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The state asked that McDaniels be required to report to a substance abuse facility. The court directed McDaniels to Seneca Health for a Substance Abuse Assessment.
