The following hearings were recently held in Pocahontas County Circuit Court before the Honorable Judges Robert E. Richardson and Jennifer P. Dent:

Christopher Gibson, 47, of Buckeye, pleaded guilty to the lesser included offense in Count I of the indictment, failure to register as a sex offender or provide notice of registration changes, first offense. The matter was referred to the probation department for a presentence investigation report. Sentencing and disposition is set for December 18.

A hearing on motion to disqualify prosecuting attorney was held in the case the State vs Skylar Tincher, 24, an inmate in the Pruntytown Correctional Center. The court granted the request for a special prosecutor. Tincher was sentenced July 2024 to five years in the state penitentiary on the charge of endangerment involving the use of a firearm and a lesser included offense of malicious assault.

Michael Beverage, Jr., 37, of Marlinton, tendered an oral and written plea of guilty to child neglect creating risk of serious bodily injury. The State agreed to dismiss misdemeanor charges in Magistrate Court. The Court deferred adjudication, and the defendant will enter the Southeaster Drug Court Program immediately.

A hearing was held in the case the State vs Erick Romanello, 44, of Marlinton, wherein the State advised the Court that the defendant has been accepted into the Southeastern Drug Court Program. An agreement to extend the diversion period for an additional year to May 26, 2025 was accepted by the court.

A capias was issued for Roger W. Teter, Jr., 51, of Dunmore, who failed to appear for a hearing on petition to revoke probation.
