The following hearings were recently held in Pocahontas County Circuit Court before the Honorable Judge Jennifer P. Dent:
Sherry L. Carpenter, 60, of Marlinton, appeared by video from the Tygart Valley Regional Jail for an arraignment hearing. The Court was advised that the defendant had not been served with summons/arraignment. The State asked for a competency evaluation. The Court will reschedule once the evaluation has been received and the defendant has been served notice. Carpenter was indicted on one count, stalking, second offense, a felony.
An in-person plea/sentencing hearing was held in the case the State vs Roy Myers, 50, of Durbin, wherein the Court did not accept the defendant’s Ken-nedy vs Frasier plea to two lesser misdemeanor counts of child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury in Counts I and II of the indictment, because it does not meet the fair administration of justice. The matter is set for a status hearing December 5.
A plea/sentencing hearing is set for December 12 in the case the State vs Jeremy D. Moore, 39, of Marlinton.

Erick Romanello, 44, of Marlinton, has been referred to the Southeastern Drug Court Program.
Note: Jury selection began Monday, November 18, in the case the State vs Tony Garretson, 53, of Marlinton.
