The following hearings were recently held in Pocahontas County Circuit Court befreo the Honorable Jennifer P. Dent:

Mason Slava Walker, 24, of Hillsboro, appeared by video for a status hearing wherein he waived his right to a speedy trial in this term of court. The matter is continued to February 6, 2025. Defense counsel advised the court that Walker has security concerns at Tygart Valley Regional Jail and would like to be transferred to the Southern Regional Jail. The court would like the jail commission to hear the matter before any court order is entered. Walker was indicted on one count, murder in the first degree; one count, use or presentment of a firearm during the commission of a felony; and one count, person prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Randall Moore, 44, of Arbovale, waived his right to a speedy trial in this term of court. The matter is set for a status hearing February 6, 2025. Moore was indicted on one count, murder in the first degree.

Roy Lambert, JR., 56, of Bartow, waived his right to a speedy trial during this term of court. Pre-trial hearing is set for February 6, 2025, and an in-person jury trial is set for February 13, 2025. Lambert was indicted on one count, sexual abuse in the first degree.
