Chris Phillips

Chris Richard Phillips, age 50, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, from injuries sustained in an industrial accident.

Born October 26, 1965, in Marlinton, he was a son of William Richard “Bill” Phillips and Hilda Hall Phillips, of Marlinton.

Chris was a graduate of Pocahontas County High School and attended Greenbrier Community and Technical College in Lewisburg and Rowan Cabarrus Community College in Salisbury, North Carolina.

He was employed for DuraFiber Technologies and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cooleemee, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mitzi Sales Phillips; a daughter, Loren Paige Phillips, and son, Logan Christopher Phillips, both of Salisbury, North Carolina; brothers, Bodie Phillips, of Kodiak, Alaska, Michael Phillips, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, John Phillips, of Pennsylvania, and Randy Phillips, Jr., of Georgia; and a sister, Tammie Bogan, and husband, Patrick, of Hot Springs, Virginia.

Funeral service was April 10 at Summersett Memorial Chapel in Salisbury, North Carolina, with Rev. Allen Mullins, minister of the First Church of Cooleemee, officiating.
