Charles McCarty

Charles Edward McCarty, age 76, of Beltsville, Maryland, formerly of Marlinton, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, following a long illness.

Born June 2, 1940, he was a son of the late W. Kyle and Ruby Sharp McCarty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Allen McCarty and Gerald Samuel “Butch” McCarty; and two sisters, Erma Lee McCarty and Marion Frances Murphy.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Malcomb McCarty; three children, Donna Lynn Paris, Charles E. McCarty, Jr., and wife, Shelia, all of Beltsville, Maryland, and Rebecca Kelly Boden, and husband, Scott, of Manassas, Virginia; grandsons, Jacob McCarty, and fiancée, Samantha Tyrant, Tyler Mankin, George “Chet” Paris and Daniel Boden; a granddaughter, Amanda Lynn; a great-granddaughter, Sianna Lane; a brother, Steve K. McCarty, and wife, Patricia, of Bowie, Maryland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with his wishes, the body was cremated.

Family will receive friends Friday, March 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 1 p.m. at Pocahontas County Senior Center, 20626 Seneca Trail, Marlinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pocahontas County Senior Citizens, Inc., 20626 Seneca Trail, Marlinton, WV 24954.
