The Pocahontas County Board of Education meeting Monday night was bittersweet for board vice president Cheryl Beverage as it was her last meeting after four years of service.
Board members and superintendent Terrence Beam thanked Beverage for her service and gave her a standing ovation.
“I just want to personally thank Mrs. Beverage for her service,” Beam said. “She has been a supporter for me ever since she has been on the board and I worked in this office. I just want her to know that I appreciate everything that she did to help me.”
Board president Emery Grimes also expressed his appreciation to Beverage.
“I have worked with Mrs. Beverage for the last four years, and I can tell you this evening, she has been here for the students of Pocahontas County,” Grimes said. “I really enjoyed [working with her]. Thank you for your service. You’re going to be missed.”
