Beverly Arbuckle

Beverly Anne Galford Arbuckle passed away Friday, March 6, 2015.

Born January 18, 1949, at Marlinton, she was a daughter of Mary E. Arbogast Galford and the late Harper Hudson Galford.

Beverly was raised in Green Bank. She was a 1966 graduate of Green Bank High School. In preparation for her teaching career, she earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees from Marshall University. In addition to her very successful career as a high school English teacher and librarian at Greenbrier East High School, she lent her leadership abilities to the West Virginia Education Association.

She enjoyed an active membership and service work as deacon at Clifton Presbyterian Church. In 1982, she married R. Houston Arbuckle and they shared a blessed life together for 33 years. Beverly was a strong, loving and supportive mother to one child, Emily A. Arbuckle.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, R. Houston Arbuckle; a daughter, Emily A. Arbuckle; an aunt, Doris A. Dilley; close family member and friend, Carolyn W. Arbuckle; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and lifelong friends, Barbara Mills, Beverly Taylor and Nancy Griffith.

Funeral service was March 11at the Clifton Presbyterian Church in Maxwelton with Pastor Janice Fraser and Rev. Everette “Hat” Defibaugh officiating. Interment was in the Clifton Cemetery.
