Bessie Mae Hickman, age 73, of Smithers, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at her home.
Born July 23, 1941, at Chesapeake, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Ray and Flora June Morton Rogers.
Bessie was a homemaker and member of the Smithers Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie W. Hickman; a son, Lance Allen Rogers; and a great-granddaughter, Kristen Grace Jordan.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Neal, and husband, Rex, of Indore, and Rebecca McCune, of Smithers; two sons, Harvey McCune, of Smithers, and James, and wife, Karen Parsons, of Baltimore, Maryland; a brother, John Rogers, of Glen; a sister, Karen Ruth Churchwell, of Deepwater; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was March 29 at Lizemore Church of the Nazarene in Lizemore, with Pastor Michel Holcomb officiating. Interment was in the McCune Cemetery in Lizemore, under the direction of Lantz Funeral Home.
